On our pizza, we mixed the curiious cloves with olive oil and spread it right on the dough for the base- outcome- 7 out of 7 big thumbs up! It gave our pizza a wonderful earthy sweet and unique flavor- black garlic made our basic pepperoni pizza an extraordinary pizza-oh....also a great oil additive for bread dipping!
